After three months and a 48-scenario injected-fault benchmark, Sentry delivered the best error capture fidelity (44/48) and the cleanest platform and agent/API integration (sampled deviation under 2%). Alerting latency stayed within its 99th percentile target, source maps uploaded first-try, and monthly cost came in below the budget threshold. Datadog had the fastest alerting and turnkey infrastructure, but error-tracking depth trailed Sentry and projected cost was several times our budget. Highlight.io was the lowest-cost self-hosted option and its session replay was useful, but repeated source-map failures and the absence of a stable public SDK made it not production-ready yet.
